Senior UK government officials have issued a statement following talks aimed at lifting the ban on "Maccabi Tel Aviv" fans attending the Europa League match against "Aston Villa".
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to "Give me sport". The game will take place on November 6 at "Villa Park".
"No one should be denied the right to watch a football match simply because of their nationality. The government is doing everything possible with the police and other partners to ensure that the match is held safely and with the participation of all fans. We are investigating what additional resources and support are needed to ensure that all fans can attend the match," the statement said.
The Birmingham club banned fans of the Israeli team from attending the international match due to concerns about the safety of spectators and local residents.
