The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) will allocate 5.55 million euros to the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) within the framework of the solidarity payment program for clubs that do not participate in the general stages of European Cup competitions in the 2025/2026 season. Sport24.az reports that the funds will eventually be divided equally among the top division clubs that miss the general stages of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
The amount of the payment consists of two parts: 70 percent is determined by the country's position in the UEFA ranking (Azerbaijan is in 26th place), and the other 30 percent is proportional to the club's income from European Cup competitions, which is the highest indicator among clubs representing that national organization.
Among the associations outside the top 5, the Dutch will receive the most funds - 6.25 million euros. The top five countries (England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France) will receive 10 million euros.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented in European competitions this season by "Qarabag" club of Aghdam. After six rounds of the Champions League, Aghdam is in 22nd place in the tournament table. The team will play its next match on January 21 in Baku against the German team "Eintracht" (Frankfurt).
