The duration of the punishment for Igor Ribeiro, a football player of "Araz-Nakhchivan" who received a direct red card in the return match of the II qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League against "Aris" in Greece, has been determined.
Idman.biz reports with reference to Telegraf that UEFA has disqualified the 28-year-old defender for 1 match.
The Brazilian stopper will serve his punishment in the first match of the III qualifying round against Cyprus' "Omonia" in the Nakhchivan team in Baku. This meeting will take place on August 7 at the "Dalga Arena".
The club management will keep the "samba dancer" in the application for the upcoming games. Therefore, Ribeiro's appearance in the return match against "Omonia" on August 14 in Nicosia is not excluded.
Although Ribeiro signed a contract with "Neftchi" during the summer transfer period, according to the inter-club agreement, he had to help "Araz-Nakhchivan" in the Conference League until August 1. However, since the football player received a red card in the 52nd minute of the return match with "Aris", the question arose as to which club he would serve his European Cup penalty in. If he returned to "Neftchi" now, the "white-blacks" would be deprived of his services in the first match if they qualified for the European Cups next season.
Taking this into account, "Araz-Nakhchivan" did not remove Ribeiro from the application for the match against "Omonia". It has not yet been clarified whether the "samba dancer" will participate in the return match after serving a 1-match penalty.
