The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has sanctioned the U17 women's national teams of Estonia and Lithuania for refusing to play against their Belarusian peers in the qualifying round of the European Championship.
"Due to the refusal of the Estonian Football Association and the Lithuanian Football Federation to participate in the qualifying matches of the European Women's U17 Championship against the national team of Belarus, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body awarded the Estonian and Lithuanian teams a score of 0:3.
Detailed information regarding the remaining match of the Belarus U17 team against their Maltese peers will be announced later," the Belarusian Football Federation (ABFF) said in a statement.
