UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, speaking ahead of the UEFA Super Cup match, revealed his favorite league among the "top 5" leagues.
According to Lent.az, he said in his statement that he loves the Italian league the most:
"Our policy is to bring the Super Cup to small cities, and we are very happy about it here in Udine, the game will be beautiful. Italian football is developing, the president of the Italian Football Federation, Gabriele Gravina, is doing a great job, this is my favorite of the five strongest leagues. But a lot still needs to be improved here in terms of infrastructure."
The UEFA Super Cup match between Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham (2:2, penalties 4:3) took place at the Dacia Arena stadium in Udine, Italy.
The Italian Serie A is second in the UEFA league rankings, losing only to the English Premier League. Italian clubs have featured in the last Champions League final ("Inter"), in two of the last three Europa League finals ("Roma" and "Atalanta") and in three of the last four Conference League finals ("Roma" and "Fiorentina" — twice).
The new season in Serie A will start on August 23. The current champion of the tournament is "Napoli".
