UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin has harshly criticized the football infrastructure in Italy. Sport24.az reports that the head of the continental football organization spoke about this in an interview with "Sportmediaset":
"The football infrastructure in Italy is a disgrace. Italy is one of the biggest football countries that has won the World Cup, the European Championship and the Champions League. But at the same time, among other major football countries, it undoubtedly has the worst infrastructure. To be honest, I am tired of talking about it. Because in Italy, matters concerning stadiums end in discussions."
I hope Italy will do something about the stadiums. Clubs need the help of the government and private investors. It is time to take action, because the stadiums are in terrible condition.".
It should be noted that in March it became known that the "San Siro" stadium in Milan will not be able to host the Champions League final in 2027. The decisive game of the continent's most prestigious club tournament will be held in Madrid at Atletico's home stadium.
