UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin has evaluated the new format of the Champions League. Sport24.az reports that the head of the supreme football body made a statement to "Record" regarding this:
"Instead of dividing clubs into groups, we now have a unified ranking. From my experience, I know that everyone wants changes, especially in football, but no one wants to implement them. We showed courage by taking this step. Usually, we knew who would qualify for the next stage by December. Last season, PSG and Manchester City were only able to achieve their desired results in the final rounds. The reason we watch football is the unpredictability of the competition. This is a great success, and we are very happy about it."
In addition to the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League have also switched to the updated format.
It should be noted that our representative "Qarabağ" is also competing in the League stage of the UEFA Champions League this season.
