"The team's preparation is proceeding according to plan. We are trying to increase our physical condition and get in shape. We want to have a good training camp and be fully ready for the start of the championship." These words were said by Shahriyar Aliyev, the captain of "Turan Tovuz", in his statement to Sport24.az.
The captain of the "Grey Wolves" spoke about the goals of his team for the next season:
"Last season, we also set ourselves the goal of qualifying for European cups. It didn't work out at the last moment. Our goal is the same this year as well. We are working as a team for this. We are preparing more seriously and will try not to repeat the mistakes of the previous season. I believe that we will be ready for the new season and will fight for European cups. Maybe we could have achieved this in the completed "football year". The points we lost in some matches cost us dearly. This time, we have to collect as many points as possible so that there are no such cases in the end. We had players leaving. I thank each of them. They did their best for the team to succeed. We also have new players. A few more will come. Transfer is such that it does not happen in one day. You have to see all its qualities and attract a player who can benefit the team. It is a little difficult in the transfer issue for that reason. I believe that the newcomers will add strength to our strength and we will be one of the ambitious clubs in the championship."
It should be noted that "Turan Tovuz" finished last season in 4th place with 55 points.
