"Sabail has a large squad and we prepared seriously for the game. We wanted to win and get out of the last place in the standings." These words were said to Sport24.az by Tural Jalilov, the playing head coach of "Shimal", a representative of the First League.
The experienced football player shared his thoughts on the game his team lost to Sabail in the 22nd round of the First League the previous day:
"We conceded a goal in the first minute of the match and this spoiled our plans. Then we had enough attacks, but unfortunately we couldn't take advantage of them. In my opinion, we were a little unlucky. The penalty awarded to our goal in the second half had a very negative impact on our team, the players were discouraged. I congratulate the opponent. Our goal is to stay in the First League. There are still 5 rounds ahead and nothing is over."
The 39-year-old also spoke about his career:
"I played permanently in the first round of the championship. During the winter break, we attracted enough players to the team. That's why I decided to step aside. There are enough players in the squad. This season I am leading the team as head coach. I have not yet made a decision about my career. I will make a decision after it is known in which league our team will play next season."
It should be noted that the "Sabail" - "Shimal" match ended with a 4:0 victory for the home team.
