US President Donald Trump has threatened to revoke the right of the city of Boston to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that the publication "The Athletic" reported about it.
It is noted that D. Trump's relations with the city's mayor Michelle Wu are cold. Thus, actions against D. Trump's migration policy are often organized in Boston. D. Trump accuses Michelle Wu of failing to prevent these actions.
"I love the people of Boston. I know all the tickets for the games are sold out, but you have a bad mayor. If someone can't handle their job, I think the situation will be assessed as dangerous and holding World Cup games will be questionable," said Donald Trump.
He also added that he could call FIFA President Gianni Infantino and ask to move the tournament games to another location.
It should be noted that 48 teams will participate in the 2026 World Cup. The tournament will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
