US President Donald Trump has shared a message on his social media page stating that the participation of the Iranian national team in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico this summer, is inappropriate.
Idman.Biz reports that the Iranian Football Federation has previously declared that the national team's participation in the World Cup is not correct.
"The Iranian national team can come to the World Cup, but I don't think it is appropriate for their safety. Thank you for your attention to this matter," Trump wrote.
On February 28, the US and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran, and this operation struck US military bases and other facilities in Israel, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
