Tordarson respects the Azerbaijani national team because of "Qarabağ" players

Icelandic national team midfielder Gísli Thordarson shared his expectations regarding the match against the Azerbaijani national team in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup. The match will take place in Reykjavik on September 5.

According to Idman.biz, citing 433.is, the football player emphasized that he respects the opponent, which includes several players from "Qarabağ," who qualified for the Champions League.

"The Azerbaijani national team is a good team with quality players. But we see this match as a very real chance for victory. We have to start well and go to France with a positive result," said Thordarson.
