Courtois finished the match against Rayo Vallecano (0:0) with pain in his thigh. He underwent a medical examination at the Valdebebas base today, and the severity of his injury will be announced soon.
The Belgian national team will face Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup, but Courtois will miss these matches. Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso hopes that he will return to the squad for the match against Elche after the international break.
