Belgian national team and Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has spoken about the save he considers the best of his career.
Idman.Biz reports that he said the episode happened in the 2022 Champions League final against Liverpool.
"When Sadio Mane shot in the 2022 Champions League final. He pulled towards the center and I stepped to the left. Then I had to put all my weight on the right side to return the shot. It was incredibly difficult, I barely touched the ball and it hit the post," Courtois said.
In the final of that season, Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 1-0. The goalkeeper was remembered with nine saves in that match. The only goal was scored by Vinicius Junior in the 59th minute.
