Neftchi's captain, Emin Mahmudov, has been in the spotlight for his gesture after scoring a goal in the first round of the Misli Premier League against Shamakhi (1:1) yesterday.
Idman.biz reports, citing QOL.az, that he made the same gesture by raising his left hand during a test match against Hapoel during a training camp in Poland.
Mahmudov, answering journalists' questions after yesterday's match with Shamakhi, spoke about the meaning of his gesture: "It's related to religion. I saw this gesture on the internet and liked it. That's why I do it. There are other football players who make this gesture."
