As reported, the final squad of the Azerbaijan national team of under-16 football players for the CIS Games to be held in Gabala has been announced.
Idman.biz reports that Nicat Ahmadzadeh, a member of the Spanish "Marcet" Football Academy, who was on the preliminary list, has been replaced by Rasul Balakishiyev.
Murad Akhundov, head of the Media and Marketing Department of AFFA, in his statement to Sportnet.az, linked the change to Nicat Ahmadzadeh's injury: "We sent an invitation to this football player. The head coach Agil Nabiyev also wanted to see him in the squad. Agreement was even reached and his name was shown in our preliminary list when it was announced through our website. But at the last moment, a letter came from "Marcet" that Nicat was injured and would not be able to play. Therefore, a change was made in the squad quickly. On the evening of the day it was announced, Nicat Ahmadzadeh was replaced by Rasul Balakishiyev. That is, Rasul will go to the CIS Games."
Akhundov explained the reason for not providing additional information about the change through the official website as follows: "We will not explain the reason for all the changes in the squad one by one... If someone needs information, we will tell them. But we cannot explain the difference between the preliminary list and the final list on the website."
U-16 will compete in Group A with the national teams of Tajikistan (September 27) and Kyrgyzstan (October 1).
