Barcelona's goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, has been stripped of the captain's armband.
Report reports, citing local media, that this is a demand from the leadership of the Catalan representative.
Head coach Hans-Dieter Flick also wanted a new captain to be appointed as a disciplinary measure against the 33-year-old football player.
The goalkeeper refused to sign the injury report for the La Liga medical commission. The club wanted to register a new player using a clause in the regulations. However, for this to happen, it must be confirmed that the injured player will recover in at least four months.
It should be noted that Mark-Andre ter Stegen has been playing for Barcelona since 2014. His current contract is valid until the summer of 2028.
