"We have been in first place since the beginning of the season. We want it to continue like this until the end of the season." These words were stated by Tarlan Guliyev, a football player of "Shafa", in his statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced defender, the team's captain, shared his thoughts on the past 19 rounds:
"In my opinion, there has never been a case in the First Division where a team is in first place from beginning to end and finishes the championship without losing. We have a good team. I don't know how true the information is that head coach Elgiz will leave the team and be replaced by Aftandil Hajiyev. What Elgiz has done for the team is obvious. As far as I know, if the team becomes champion, the contract of the head coach and his assistants is automatically renewed. We joined the team in the middle of last season. We haven't lost since then. This is a great indicator. In the Premier League, a team like "Qarabag" loses to "Kapaz". That is, defeats are inevitable in football."
It should be noted that after this result, "Shafa" continues to lead the First Division with 45 points.
