Tarlan Guliyev: "The inability to take advantage of real scoring opportunities is like a disease for us"

"We are playing the final round of the First League. All the points we earn are important to us. Although we have not lost during the season, we have had more draws than we thought. We are worried about this." These thoughts were expressed by "Shafa" football player Tarlan Guliyev in his statement to Sport24.az.

The experienced defender shared his thoughts on the game in which his team, which he captained yesterday, won against "Shimal" in the 18th round of the First League:

"We are leading the tournament table with 42 points. We are continuing according to plan. 3 of our players were missing the match against "Shimal" due to the yellow card limit. In addition, 2-3 players could not participate due to injury. This is normal in football. I wouldn't say that the first half was weak. Opponents defend in matches against us. It happens that they play with 5-6 central defenders. We had 3-4 real scoring opportunities in the first half, we could not take advantage of them. This is like a disease for us (laughs). We had 6 chances in the duel with "Baku Sporting", we were able to use 1 of them. Of course, this is not enough. We have a difficult away match against "Shahdag Gusar" ahead. We are preparing for that game with all our strength."
