The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has fined the Swedish Football Association 60,000 kronor ($6,350).
According to Report, this was due to the inappropriate behavior of the national team's fans.
Specifically, during the Sweden-Switzerland match, which was part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, local fans whistled from the stands while the opposing team's anthem was being played.
Football Association CEO Tobias Tibell said: "Of course, we are very happy and appreciate the fantastic support that our fans consistently provide to our national teams. At the same time, we would like to emphasize the importance of always treating our opponents with respect, and therefore we regret the noise that occurred during the playing of the Swiss anthem."
It is noted that the association has accepted FIFA's decision and will not file an appeal.
