The Opta supercomputer has identified the favorites to win the Club World Cup to be held this summer. The supercomputer ran 10,000 simulations of the tournament.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, the current Champions League winner, PSG, won the competition in 18.5 percent of cases. The teams with the next highest chance of winning the Club World Cup are Manchester City (17.8 percent) and Bayern Munich (12.8 percent).
The top ten also includes Inter (12.3 percent), Real (9.8 percent), Chelsea (8.4 percent), Borussia Dortmund (5.4 percent), Atletico (5.1 percent), Juventus (3.6 percent) and Benfica (3.3 percent).
The Club World Cup starts on June 14.
In the opening match, Inter Miami will face Egypt's Al-Ahly. A total of 32 teams from 6 confederations will participate in the tournament to be held in the USA. The prize fund of the competition is more than a billion dollars. The final will be held on July 13, 2025 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The 2025 Club World Cup will be the 21st edition of the tournament and the first to be played in a new format. The first FIFA Club World Championship was held in Brazil in January 2000. It was recognized by FIFA as the successor to the Intercontinental Cup, which was held annually in Japan between the UEFA Champions League winner and the Copa Libertadores winner. After a four-year break, the tournament was renamed the FIFA Club World Cup and was re-established in 2005.
