The Istanbul Prosecutor's Office has detained 32 suspects as part of an investigation into match-fixing and illegal betting in the country's professional leagues.
According to Idman.Biz, citing Hürriyet Daily News, those detained include individuals in the leadership of several Super League clubs – "Göztepe", "Konyaspor", "Alanyaspor", "Antalyaspor", "Kocaelispor", "Gençlerbirliği" and "Sivasspor".
According to the newspaper, Turkish police conducted raids in 10 provinces to arrest the suspects. The search for another suspect continues.
It is worth recalling that more than 1,000 football players and 149 referees were previously disqualified in Turkey for betting. Police investigations continue.
