In connection with the 100th anniversary of the world-famous football referee Tofiq Bahramov, 2025 has been a remarkable year for Azerbaijani sports, especially football and football refereeing. On the occasion of this historic event, the "Tofiq Bahramov – 100: Legacy of Fair Play" project is being implemented with the organization of the "Azerbaijan Football Referees" Public Union and the financial support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In August and September of this year, events of the "Tofiq Bahramov – 100: Legacy of Fair Play" project took place. Thus, the Public Union published a booklet dedicated to Tofiq Bahramov and Azerbaijani football refereeing. Seminars and meetings were also held in different regions (Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Lankaran, Lerik, Guba, Shaki).
Interesting presentations were made at the seminars by the chairman of the public union, expert Gulaga Jabarov, and the project manager, Rauf Jabarov. The presentations discussed Tofiq Bahramov and modern football refereeing, leadership in sports, and interesting aspects of the rules of football. The presentation of the "Tofiq Bahramov - 100" booklet took place.
Winners were awarded prizes by holding a quiz on the rules of the game.
The main goal of this project was to promote the profession of football refereeing in society, as well as to commemorate the memory of Tofiq Bahramov, a historical figure of Azerbaijani football.
It should be noted that during the year, along with the "Tofiq Bahramov – 100: Legacy of Fair Play" project, a series of events were also implemented by the "Azerbaijan Football Referees" Public Union. A "Fair Play Match" and a mini-football tournament called "Tofiq Bahramov – 100" were organized in memory of the great referee.
