Former Liverpool midfielder and captain Steven Gerrard has stated that he would like to play with the Reds' attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz. The German footballer moved from Bayer Leverkusen to the Reds last summer, becoming the most expensive transfer in the English club's history. Sport24.az reports that he made a statement to The Touchline publication in this regard:
"Before giving an opinion about a player, I always think, would I like to play with him? I would definitely be happy to play with Florian Wirtz."
Let's add that Gerrard finished his career in 2014. He has been working as a coach since 2017. Gerrard's last club was Al-Ettifaq of Saudi Arabia.
