The Saint Lucia national football team did not expect a heavy defeat in the match against the Azerbaijan national team.
According to "Report", the team's head coach Stern John said this at a press conference.
The expert shared his thoughts after the match they lost to the Azerbaijan national team (1:6) in the "FIFA Series – 2026" international tournament:
"I didn't expect such a result. We knew the opponent would put pressure on us. We made simple mistakes. And when that happens, you get punished".
He spoke about the importance of the tournament:
"We have come a long way to get here. It was an experience for the players. They played against a European team. But playing one game disappoints us".
