Stanislav Cherchesov has been appointed as the head coach of "Akhmat", which competes in the Russian Premier League.
Idman.biz reports that the Grozny representative has signed a three-year contract with the 61-year-old Russian specialist.
Previously, "Akhmat" dismissed Aleksandr Storozhuk after starting the season with four consecutive defeats.
According to media reports, Cherchesov's annual salary will be 1.3 million euros.
Cherchesov left the Kazakhstan national team in January 2025. He previously worked for the Russian national team, "Ferencváros", "Legia", "Spartak", Moscow "Dynamo", and "Amkar". He also worked as the head coach of "Akhmat" (formerly "Terek") from 2011 to 2013.
