The specialist, who currently coaches his country's "Akhmat" team, said that progress has been felt in the national team after Aykhan Abbasov's arrival: "Before, there were shortcomings in organizing the game and focusing on the result. The 62-year-old coach, who once said that his name was associated with the Azerbaijan national team, said that they had not held an official meeting with AFFA regarding this.
It should be noted that the team led by Aykhan Abbasov finished the D group of the qualifying round of the World Championship (WC-2026) in the last - 4th place with 1 point.
