Lent.az reports that the incident took place at the "Estadio Alejandro Villanueva" stadium. Thousands of fans gathered at the stadium to watch the game between "Alianza Lima" and "Universitario". Due to the very high interest, the number of fans exceeded the stadium's capacity even before the game started.
As a result, congestion occurred, and then part of the stands collapsed under the weight of the fans. As a result of the incident, one person died and 47 were injured.
After the incident, the game was immediately stopped for security reasons and officially canceled.
