The 2024/2025 season of the Portuguese Football Championship has come to an end.
Idman.biz reports that the fate of the championship was decided in the last round.
Lisbon representatives - "Sporting" and "Benfica" competed for gold medals. The "lions", facing "Guimarães" at their home ground, won 2:0 and won the championship title regardless of the result of the "Braga" - "Benfica" match. "Sporting" became the strongest club in Portugal for the second time in a row, and for the 21st time in its history. The teams scored 82 and 80 points, respectively.
"Porto" finished the season in 3rd place with 71 points. "Braga" (66 points) took 4th place, and "Santa Clara" (57 points) took 5th place, gaining the right to play in European Cups.
It should be noted that "Sporting"'s Swedish forward Viktor Gyökeres became the most accurate football player of the Portuguese championship with 39 goals.
