Russian football player Fedor Smolov beat up two people in the "Kofemania" cafe in the center of Moscow.
Idman.biz reports that the incident took place on May 28 at 07:30 in the morning, but the video became public only now.
Interestingly, the scandal involving Smolov took place in the same cafe where an incident occurred in 2018 with other former Russian national team players Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev.
Smolov was demanded 3 million rubles (approximately 65 thousand manats) not to release the video. This was reported by the Sport Baza portal on its Telegram channel.
According to the source, the 35-year-old striker was initially offered to pay one million rubles, and he agreed to it. However, the demands were later increased to 3 million rubles, which Smolov did not agree to.
It is reported that the conflict started with those two men discussing Smolov loudly. The fight broke out after the football player heard insults directed at him. Although the injured persons appealed to the police, a criminal case was not opened.
In the scandalous video that appeared, Fedor Smolov is seen hitting two people in a cafe. The football player has not yet made an official statement regarding the incident.
It should be noted that last season Smolov became the Russian champion as part of "Krasnodar". The 35-year-old striker, whose contract with the club expired on May 27, is currently a free agent.
