The influential British publication Sky Sports conducted a survey to determine the greatest footballer in sports history. Sport24.az reports that as a result, nearly half a million respondents participated in the voting.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese national team's striker and player for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, took first place with 36 percent of all votes.
In second place with a slight difference was Inter Miami's famous Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi (35%). Messi's legendary compatriot Diego Maradona took third place. The "top four" was closed by Brazilian Pele.
It should be noted that Maradona passed away in 2020, and Pele in 2022.
