Siyasət Əsgərov, the head coach of the Azerbaijan women's national football team, thanked the national team members who showed character in the test match against Kazakhstan.
"Report" reports that he stated this in his statement to the AFFA press service.
The specialist commented on the test match won by the national team (2:1), which is holding a training camp in Kazakhstan:
"We have been in training camp here since October 20. Today we held our first friendly match against the local team. Women's football in Kazakhstan has been on the rise in recent years. When we analyzed the opponent, we saw that they have strong players. The match can be divided into two parts. We performed very well in the first half and opened the score. We could have scored at least one more goal before the break. The Kazakhstan national team also had dangerous attacks, but we played very carefully in defense. In the second half, the opponent changed their game plan and tried to build attacks mainly with long passes. This also created certain problems for us. We also conceded a goal from our own mistake during a standard situation. Nevertheless, we won. I would like to express my gratitude to our team, who did their best to win from the beginning to the end of the match and showed character." It should be noted that our national team will hold its second friendly match with the Kazakhstan national team on October 27.
