"Women's football in Kazakhstan has been on the rise in recent years."
Idman.Biz reports that Siyasat Asgarov, head coach of the Azerbaijan national women's football team, told the AFFA press service after the friendly match against the Kazakhstan national team (2:1) at the Shymkent city stadium.
"When we analyzed the opponent, we saw that they have strong players. Today's match can be divided into two parts. We performed very well in the first half and opened the scoring. We could have scored at least one more goal before the break. The Kazakhstan team also had dangerous attacks, but we played very carefully in defense.
In the second half, the opponent changed their game plan and tried to build attacks mainly with long passes. This created certain problems for us. We conceded a goal from a standard situation due to our own mistake. Nevertheless, we won. I thank our team, which did its best to win from the beginning to the end of the match and showed character."
It should be noted that our national team will hold the second friendly match with the Kazakhstan team on October 27.
