"Shelbourne" didn't want to concede in the first half of the game against "Qarabag".
"Report" informs that the head coach of "Shelbourne" (Ireland) Joy O'Brien said this at a press conference after the return match against "Qarabag" in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
The expert said they played against a tough opponent:
"We also prioritized defense in the first game. We didn't want to concede in the first half. "Qarabag" is really a strong team. They deserve to play in the League stages in European Cups. We conceded goals from mistakes in the first match. The goal we conceded at the end of the first half in the return match disrupted our plans. We prepared well for the meeting in Baku".
It should be noted that the "Qarabag" - "Shelbourne" match held at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium ended with a 1:0 victory for the home team. In the third qualifying round, "Qarabag" will face the winner of the "Shkendiya" (North Macedonia) - FCSB (Romania) pair.
