"Shamkir" President talks about future plans: Ascending to the First League is the main goal
The president of "Shamkir", competing in the Second League, gave an interview to Shamkir blogger Bakhtiyar Rustamov. Sport24.az reports that Mammadov spoke about future plans, as well as evaluating the completed season: "Our team fought this season with the goal of rising to the First League. Although we experienced some difficulties in the first round, the team recovered after Vugar Nadirov was appointed head coach. Unfortunately, we did not achieve our goal, but we have stronger plans for next season. Our goal is to be a competitive team in the Second League". Speaking about the current situation and future plans of the team, he said that he relies on the support of local businessmen and also mentioned the work done to renew the turf of the stadium: "Our players are currently on vacation. We are negotiating with sponsors for next season and our goal is to build a stronger team. With the support of businessmen, football fans and fans of our region, we will do our best to rise to the First League". The club president also clarified the news about the departure of Vidadi Jafarov, the top scorer of the Second League, noting that he performed excellently this season and received offers from the First League and even Premier League clubs, and that they parted ways with him in a friendly manner.
