The "Shamakhi" - "Qarabag" match, which should be held today as part of the 19th round of the Misli Premier League, may be postponed. Heavy snow currently falling in Shamakhi calls into question the holding of the match.
Idman.Biz reports that the Professional Football League (PFL) told AZERTAC that the process of clearing the stadium's grass cover from snow is ongoing.
According to Sanan Abdullayev, Media and Marketing Director of PFL, the main goal is to hold the game as planned and all steps are being taken for this: "It started snowing in Shamakhi city this morning. Taking this possibility into account, as a result of negotiations with AFFA, a snow-clearing tractor specifically designed for these situations was sent to the area from Baku. Currently, since the snow continues, the cleaned area is covered with snow again, and this is the main problem. But the work is being carried out as planned, we are in constant contact with the "Shamakhi" club, the club has also been provided with orange balls. If insurmountable problems arise, steps will be taken in accordance with the regulations, based on the referee's decision."
It should be noted that the match is scheduled to start at 14:30.
