In the 2nd round of the Azerbaijan II League, the leader "Shaki City" unexpectedly suffered a defeat. The regional representative lost to "Garadagh Lokbatan" with a score of 2:3.
In his statement to Fanat.az, the head coach of "Shaki City" Bahman Hasanov shared his thoughts on the game, evaluating the match.
The expert stated that they played their worst game in that match:
"I didn't sleep all night, I'm in a bad mood. It's true, we brought the game from 0:3 to 2:3. The kids say that we didn't have enough 5 minutes, otherwise we would have scored the equalizing goal. I scolded them that there is no need to look for those 5 minutes at the end. Because in the end, the opponent usually tries to disrupt the game, the referee's whistles make you lose your temper. When I fell behind by three goals, I couldn't find a place for myself. I have never lost by a big score to any team other than "Garabagh". In the 2015-2016 season, we lost to them with a score of 0:5. In the same season, we won against them 2:1...
There are objective reasons for the defeat. Two of my defenders were injured, so I had to pull the "support" back. We must also give credit to "Garadagh Lokbatan", they are a disciplined team. I hope this defeat will shake the kids up. They were probably in euphoria after the 12:0 in the last round. In the next round, there is a crucial match with "Khankendi". We will try to forget this defeat and focus on the upcoming game".
