Former Azerbaijani national team player Shahriyar Aliyev is close to leaving "Turan Tovuz" at the end of the season. According to information obtained by Sport24.az from a reliable source, the 33-year-old defender is not included in the future plans of head coach Kurban Berdyev.
He failed to gain Berdyev's trust this season. Aliyev was able to appear in only 3 matches (111 minutes) in the Premier League.
The head coach, who wants to form a stronger squad if he qualifies for the European Cups, does not want players who do not play to stay in the team.
It should be noted that Shahriyar Aliyev, who has been wearing the uniform of the Tovuz representative since 2022, will have his contract expire at the end of the season. He is currently the team captain.
