"As always, "Qarabag" is facing a difficult game." These words were said by the former head coach of the Azerbaijani national team, Shahin Diniyev, in his statement to Spor24.az.
The experienced specialist shared his thoughts on the match that the Azerbaijani representative will hold against the English representative "Chelsea" in the main stage of the UEFA Champions League:
"There is no weak opponent in this tournament. And the opponent is one of the famous top clubs. We will face one of the big teams in England. "Qarabag" will try to score points in this match in order to strengthen its position in the tournament table and move forward a little. I think the duel with "Chelsea" is considered a transitional game. But the opponent is not an ordinary team. That is why it will be very difficult. But I must also say that it will not be easy for the English representative either. They will not be able to win easily."
Diniyev said that the guests are the favorites on paper:
"However, today's football, forecasts show that favorites do not always win. The game shown by "Qarabag" this season also gives us hope. Our representative is not an ordinary opponent for "Chelsea" either. It will not be easy for them in Baku and we will see a good fight on the field. The absence of several players of the English team may have a positive impact on us. If I'm not mistaken, 4-5 players are injured. But "Chelsea" does not have a main squad concept. Every player who wears the uniform of this team is a player worthy of this team. The London club prefers collective play. There is no purely selected leader in the current squad. They display fast and dynamic football. Physical condition will be very important to stop the opponent. "Qarabag" has also gained enough experience in European Cups. I wish our team success."
