"Despite MOIK's poor start to the season, I still see them as a contender in the championship. Although it was a big win, we didn't win easily. We scored in the first minutes, and then we were disappointed by an unexpected mistake. The opponent being a man down in the first half made our job a bit easier. As a result, we won by a large margin." These words were said by Elgiz Karamli, the head coach of "Shafa", a representative of the I League, in his statement to Sport24.az.
The expert shared his thoughts on the team's victory over the "military" (4:1) in the 4th round of the League:
"Our goal is to win every game. Only in this way can we become champions. Although we won by a large margin in the matches we played, we spent a lot of effort. The reason is that we take every match seriously. Both "Sabail" and other ambitious clubs lost points this round. This resulted in us being the sole leader in the tournament table. Of course, this is also an additional motivation for us."
The young expert also shared his expectations regarding the "Baku Sporting" match in the next round:
"In general, each of the opponents has its own advantages. One of them is that each team has players with at least First League experience. This suggests that the fight for the championship will be very difficult. Our next opponent started the championship by claiming to be a contender. They are in 3rd place in the tournament table. I expected this result from them. The condition of the arena where the opponent plays their home games is not encouraging. I think this will create additional difficulties for our team. In any case, we go out to win every game and approach every match as a final game."
It should be noted that "Shafa" is the sole leader in the First League with 12 points after 4 rounds.
