The Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has imposed a heavy penalty on Sevilla's Brazilian defender, Marcao. According to Sport24.az, this was due to what happened after the La Liga match against Real Madrid in Round XVII.
The footballer has been suspended for 6 matches for using offensive language against the head referee of the match, Alexandro Muniz Ruiz, displaying unsportsmanlike behavior, and being sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
Thus, it has been determined that Marcao will not be able to appear in official matches until mid-February. Although Sevilla has the right to appeal the decision, it has been emphasized that the possibility of reducing the penalty is minimal.
It should be noted that the Real Madrid - Sevilla match ended with a 2:0 victory for the home side.
