Sevilla head coach Matias Almeyda has been handed a seven-match ban following an argument with the referee during the Spanish La Liga match against Alaves in the 24th round.
İdman.Biz reports that the game ended in a 1-1 draw. During the game, the Sevilla coach received a red card and subsequently argued with referee Jose Apesteguia. Apesteguia was escorted away by club staff and police.
According to Sport.es, the lengthy ban stems from several infractions, including arguing with the referee, disrespectful behavior towards officials, disorderly conduct, and returning to the dressing room after being sent off.
Sevilla are currently 13th in the Spanish league table with 26 points. The team is two points clear of the relegation zone. Almeyda will miss half of the team's remaining La Liga matches.
