The punishment of Mert Çelik, a member of the Azerbaijani national team who participated in betting games in Turkey, has been announced. Sport24.az reports that he has been suspended from football for 45 days.
But this is not the final decision. Investigations into Çelik will continue.
Eren Elmalı, a member of "Galatasaray" and the Turkish national team, and Nazim Sangare, a former member of the national team and "Fenerbahce", have also been banned from football activities for 45 days.
It should be noted that Mert Çelik played one game for the Azerbaijani national team. He participated in the friendly match against Belarus (0:2) this year.
