The Italian Serie A will gradually abandon the orange ball used in autumn and winter months.
İdman.Biz reports, citing "La Gazzetta dello Sport", that the League will return to its previous yellow ball.
"We have received numerous well-founded complaints about this. There are spectators who cannot see the ball due to color blindness. We asked our technical sponsor to speed up the delivery of the new balls. We need 25 balls for each game, that is 500 balls per week, plus the balls we provide to clubs for training.
The supplier has started producing new high-visibility colored balls, but it will take a while before we can replace the current orange version. The orange ball was an unsuccessful choice. We are going back to yellow and white balls," said Serie A President Ezio Simonelli on Rai Radio 1's "Radio Anch'io Sport" program.
