Former Manchester City and Argentina national team striker Sergio Aguero has revealed that he was close to joining Chelsea in 2017.
Idman.Biz reports that Aguero retired from football at the age of 33 due to heart problems.
"In 2017, I was about to join Chelsea, but Manchester City blocked the deal at the last moment. Conte wanted me to play with Hazard, and Diego Costa was leaving," TNT Sports quotes Aguero as saying.
Aguero has played for clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and Barcelona. In the English Premier League, Aguero has repeatedly won all the titles: five English championships, six League Cups, one English Cup and three English Super Cups.
