Enrique Cerezo, the president of Atletico Madrid, has expressed his confidence that the team can win the UEFA Champions League.
According to Idman.Biz, he noted that achieving this is extremely difficult for any team, but under the leadership of Diego Simeone, Atletico has every chance of succeeding.
"Winning the Champions League is incredibly difficult for any team. However, I am sure that we can achieve this with (Simeone). We have every chance with Diego and this team. I am optimistic.
Why shouldn't we win the Champions League? Yes, there are strong rivals, but we are also a strong team. Even if we don't have a bit of luck, we are moving towards our goal.
We are demanding and striving for titles. We want that important cup that we don't have in our collection," AS quoted Cerezo.
After 18 rounds of La Liga, Atletico Madrid is currently in third place with 37 points, nine points behind leaders Barcelona. In the UEFA Champions League, the Madrid club is in eighth place with 12 points.
