Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni couldn't hold back tears at a press conference before their match against Venezuela in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, while talking about the possibility of this game being Lionel Messi's last game in his homeland. Sport24.az reports that ESPN reported this:
"Yes, as Leo said, it will be an emotional, special, and enjoyable match. Because it is indeed our last match on home soil in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. As we always say, we must enjoy it. To be honest, it is a great pleasure for me to work with Messi, and let's hope that the fans who come to the stadium will also enjoy it, because he really deserves it."
It should be noted that 38-year-old Messi has not announced when he will end his career. However, he confirmed last week that the match against Venezuela in Buenos Aires would be his last home game in the World Cup qualifiers.
