Sattar Aliyev, the former football player of "Qarabag" club, shared his memories about his career and the club in a video interview he gave to Asan TV.
He stated that he was known by the nickname "Englishman" during his football playing years in Aghdam:
"I was the first captain to raise three cups above my head in one year in the squad of "Qarabag".
Sattar Aliyev noted that the times when they played football in war conditions are unforgettable:
"Rockets were fired at Aghdam during the game. Allahverdi Bagirov, the National Hero of Azerbaijan, both played football with me and was my coach".
The former football player also shared his thoughts on the game that "Qarabag" will play in England today: "They say that you were the "Englishman" of "Qarabag". Today, our team will face "Liverpool" in England. Time will tell how the game will be".
