"Sumgayit" Bizon drew 0:0 with "Zira" in the first match of the 1/4 final stage of the Azerbaijan Cup at their home stadium. Sport24.az reports that the head coach of the "chemists" Sasha Ilic answered journalists' questions at the press conference held after the match:
- Cup matches consist of two matches. Today we saw an equal game on the field. Both teams had several scoring opportunities. I think the result is fair.
- You will face "Zira" in the championship in 3 days. Did you test any tactical moves for that match in this game?
- There is no special plan. We are playing with the players we have. It is naturally difficult to play two games against the same opponent in a short period of time. We will try to build the optimal squad to achieve a successful result.
- Was your cautious play today a tactical move or did your game not work out?
It's a cup match. Of course, we played cautiously. The weather also had an effect. You have to be careful against a team like "Zira". The opponent also didn't have many chances.
- At the end of the game, the opponent had real scoring chances. Do you think this was due to problems in defense?
- I don't agree with you. These are things that happen in football. We also had our episode. Defender Sabuhi Abdullazade blocked the shot. In the continuation, the opponent counterattacked. I wouldn't say that we played weaker in the last minutes. Some of our players are not ready to play 90 minutes after the injury. I would especially mention young players.
