"Sumgayit" head coach Saša Ilić assessed the 0:1 defeat to "Araz-Nakhchivan" in the 20th round of the Misli Premier League.
Idman.Biz reports that the specialist said that his team did not deserve to lose.
"We shouldn't have lost today. We conceded a penalty goal. The game was mostly even," he emphasized.
The coach disagreed with the question about "Sumgayit" not being themselves and the influence of previous "Zira" matches:
"No. I don't agree. We showed equal level football in all three games. But sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. That's football."
Speaking about the situation of new transfer Cedric Badolo, the head coach said that the football player is in the adaptation phase. According to him, there is a need to strengthen the squad, but the closing of the transfer window limits plans:
"Badolo is a new football player. He has only trained once. There is a need to strengthen, but for now we continue with this squad. Moreover, the transfer window is closed."
In response to a question about his emotional state, Ilić said that he tries to stay positive despite the defeats:
"I am always positive. But it is difficult to stay positive when the team loses. The main thing is that the players show quality play. I don't think it's right for the head coach of a losing team to be happy."
